Three ways to train

How we work

Hands-on, accredited training at our Meopham centre or on your site, plus approved online courses for the knowledge side that you can do at your own pace.

01 / At our centre

You come to us

Our preferred way to train. Learn on our machines at Crab Tree Close, Meopham, Kent TN15 7JL.

Best for: Most bookings. Our machines, our ground and space to learn properly, whether it's one place or a whole team.

  • We provide the machine. No kit or site needed on your side.
  • Room to learn properly. Space for novices to build real seat time.
  • Everything on site: free parking, a classroom, toilets, and tea and coffee.
  • Open Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, with some Saturdays depending on the course.
  • What to bring: outdoor clothes and steel-toe boots. High-vis and a hard hat are provided.

Drive times from the centre

Typical times outside rush hour.

02 / On your site

We come to you

Can't get to us? Our instructor comes to your site anywhere in Kent, London, Essex and Sussex, and further across the UK on request.

Best for: Teams who can't get to us, or who need training on their own specialist machines on site.

  • Your machines, your ground. Operators train on the equipment and conditions they work with every day.
  • Around your programme. We plan dates and timings to keep disruption to a minimum.
  • Mixed experience in one booking. Experienced operators can test in a day while novices get full training.
  • Plant, first aid and H&S. NPORS machine training, Nuco / FAA first aid and health & safety courses.
  • What you provide: a safe area to train, the machines being trained on and somewhere for the theory session.

03 / Online

Learn online

40 CPD, IOSH and IIRSM approved courses through our VideoTile Learning portal, from £25.00 + VAT.

Best for: Knowledge-based courses, refreshers, and busy teams who can't all be in one place.

Online courses are separate from our practical training. They cover the knowledge side, such as health & safety, fire and awareness courses, and don't include machine training or NPORS tickets.

  • Start today. Book online and get your login straight away.
  • Your own pace. Pause, come back and revisit sections as often as you need, on any device.
  • Try before you buy. Every course has a free trial.
  • Training a team? Business logins let employers book several staff.

How booking works

  1. 1Tell us what you need

Call or send an enquiry: the course, how many people and where.

  2. 2We find the right route

Novice, experienced worker test or refresher, so nobody trains longer than they need to.

  3. 3Book your dates

No deposit needed. Payment is due 7 days before the course, or on the day.

  4. 4Train and assess

Practical training, then the theory test and practical assessment.

  5. 5Stay in date

Get your card or certificate, and let TrainTrack remind you before it expires.

Not sure which test route?

For NPORS machine training, it depends where you're starting from.

Novice

3 to 5 days

Starting from zero. No prior experience needed.

Full training, then the theory test and practical assessment.

Experienced worker test

1 day

You know the job, you just need the card.

Straight to the theory test and practical assessment, usually in one day.

Refresher

Half day to 1 day

Your card's expiring or you've been off the machine a while.

Half a day to a day to sharpen up, then re-test.

How we work: FAQs

Which option is best value?

It depends on what you need. For machine training, our Meopham centre is usually the simplest and best value, as we provide the machines. If your team can't travel, we can bring the training to your site. Online courses start from £25.00 + VAT per person.

Can we mix online and face-to-face training?

Yes. Plenty of teams do knowledge courses such as manual handling, asbestos awareness or working at height online, then book practical machine training at our centre or on site.

Do you travel outside Kent?

Yes. We mainly cover Kent, London, Essex and Sussex, and we can arrange training anywhere in the UK.

What do we need to provide for on-site training?

A safe area to train in, the machines or equipment being trained on, and somewhere suitable for the theory session. We'll talk it through when you book.

What should I bring to the training centre?

Suitable outdoor clothes and steel-toe boots. We'll sort the rest, including a high-vis vest and hard hat.

How does payment work?

There's no deposit. For centre and on-site courses, payment is due 7 days before the course or on the day. Online courses are paid for when you book.

Tell us how you'd like to train

At our centre, on your site or a mix of both. We'll come back with dates and a price.
