Catastrophic bleed training
Also known as: life-threatening bleeding control, tourniquet training, bleed control
Nuco's Life-Threatening Bleeding Control course: a 3-hour course for first aiders in high-risk workplaces.
About the course
A catastrophic bleed can be fatal within minutes, long before an ambulance arrives. This is Nuco Training's Life-Threatening Bleeding Control course, for first aiders working in high-risk environments such as construction, forestry, agriculture and engineering. It's a 3-hour mix of theory and hands-on practice, including the dangers of using tourniquets and haemostatic products incorrectly. You'll need an in-date Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work or First Aid at Work qualification to attend. There's no formal exam: your instructor assesses you throughout and you receive a certificate of attendance. It doesn't expire, but Nuco recommends refreshing every 3 years. Groups of up to 12 people.
